• Far Out Ice Cream

    Far Out is one of the first New Zealand style real fruit ice cream shops in the United States. They turned to us to help design a strong brand experience in their first shop that would serve as a foundation for future growth. Having previously designed pioneering pizza and liquid nitrogen concepts, we knew the importance of both the environment and the foodservice operation in shaping the customer experience.

    This experience and our deep understanding of Far Out’s business goals helped us balance often competing aesthetic, engineering, foodservice, and zoning requirements within a confined space. Working through several design layouts we were able to accommodate a customer and workflow that responded to dramatic peaks and valleys in usage while also incorporating a walk-up window. The finishes and lighting create a spatial experience that embodies both the classic New England ice-cream shop and Far Out’s vibrant and whimsical brand.
