Groma
Groma is a real estate investment company combined with a tech startup. This duality brings together disparate audiences and cultures. In response, we designed a space and brand experience that underscores their digital approach to the physical world.
Both the natural and digital worlds are immediately palpable upon entering. Visitors are greeted by a 10,000 pound boulder quarried in Western Massachusetts and a video wall displaying Groma technology. A living wall is lit by tunable white downlighting that adjusts to mimic the sun while integrated uplighting can illuminate the ceiling in any color of the rainbow. On one side a switchable glass wall shields proprietary information, while the others are clad in white oak veneer.
These natural elements are applied throughout the space to create a healthier work environment. Tunable white lighting increases calm and focus and reinforces human biorhythms. Living plants combine with a robust HVAC system to clean the air. These plants also combine with the white oak veneer and natural stone to foster biophilia – the innate human instinct to connect with nature.
While natural elements promote health, technology is leveraged throughout to bring joy and ease to everyday work life. In communal spaces like the gym, game room and multipurpose room, color changing lights allow employees to set the right atmosphere. Likewise, speakers throughout the space can be used for both white noise and music.
