• Inkbit

Inkbit creates pioneering industrial 3D printing machines and has grown significantly since their days as a start up in Medford. They partnered with Analogue Studio to design the ideal space to support expanding their manufacturing, research & development, and wet lab, as well as their growing team.

The primary focus of the project was to create a space that celebrates the people and technology that are shaping the future of manufacturing while demonstrating Inkbit’s unique features and processes to investors, partners and clients.

Other key design goals included creating a factory that is the focal point of the space; visitors should gravitate to it and employees should take pride in it. Additionally, the new space should prioritize functionality over form and should feel purposeful, streamlined and clean.

Inkbit often reconfigures teams and spaces based on the dynamic needs of the business. Inkbit also develops new processes and capabilities in the new space that requires ongoing refinement. Work, engineering and lab spaces are reconfigurable to support dynamic teams, projects and workflows. The teams are nimble and intertwined, and did not want to be separated into departments or across spaces. The finished space seamlessly promotes impromptu and planned collaboration among engineers in the workspace, lab and workshop.
